The Orioles beat the Blue Jays in a battle of Cy Young contenders - kind of. J.A Happ and Zach Britton were never in the game at the same time, but Happ started for Toronto (6.1 IP, 3 ER, ND) and Britton finished for Baltimore, collecting his 39th save in 39 tries as the Birds won 5-3 to move within three games of the Jays.

Curtis Granderson on Tuesday became the third player in franchise history to homer twice in a game he did not start. The others: Hawk Taylor in 1964 against the Phillies and Scott Hairston against the Nationals in 2011. Granderson pinch hit for Seth Lugo in the sixth and went deep in consecutive innings.

Since joining the Blue Jays three months ago, Jason Grilli hadn't allowed multiple earned runs in an outing - until now. Grilli just served up a mammoth two-run blast Matt Wieters to give the Orioles a 5-3 eighth inning lead.

First major-league hit for JaCoby Jones turns out to be impactful. An RBI double in the bottom of the sixth gives the Tigers a 4-3 lead and leaves his mom practically in tears as TV cameras pan to her in the stands. Big moment in his MLB debut.

First, Hanley Ramirez ties the game by wrapping a 324-foot homer around Pesky's Pole. Then, he hits a popup to shallow right field that falls in for an RBI single. Sometimes, being lucky is half the battle. 3-1, Red Sox.

Jose Reyes is 4-for-4 for the Mets on Tuesday night. It's actually his second such performance this month. He also went 4-for-4 against the Giants on Aug. 19. Reyes is hitting .361 in August.

For the first time this series, Orioles fans are on their feet after Steve Pearce lines a laser homer to left off Jays starter J.A. Happ to tie the game at 1-1. The bomb was Pearce's 5th in 28 career AB's against Happ.

The Mets are getting by without their primary pitchers. Robert Gsellman limited the Phillies to one run through six innings before things unraveled on Sunday. Rafael Montero then tossed five scoreless innings against the Marlins in the series opener on Monday. And now Seth Lugo keeps wriggling free of minefields. After allowing a two-run homer to Christian Yelich in the first, Lugo has tossed three straight scoreless innings. He has stranded runners in scoring position in each of his last two frames.

Vikings athletic trainer Eric Sugarman announced Teddy Bridgewater has a dislocated knee and a complete tear of his ACL. "Teddy Bridgewater suffered a non-contact injury today at practice," Sugarman said in a statement. "The injury was quickly identified as a dislocated knee. The injury was stabilized, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage. Fortunately, there appears to be no nerve or arterial damage. Surgical repair will be scheduled within the next few days. Although the recovery time will be significant, we expect Teddy to make a full recovery. I would like to thank all of the medical professionals and our athletic training staff for all of their help today. Teddy has already displayed the attitude needed to overcome this injury and attack his rehab."
