It's another day of Santa Ana-wind conditions in Los Angeles, which means high temperatures pushing 100 degrees and zero humidity. What does that mean for baseball? Dodger Stadium is known for damp evenings that affect ball flight. That will not exist for Game 5 of the NLCS on Thursday, meaning the ballpark will play smaller than usual when the sun goes down.

Kyle Hendricks said he's excited about the opportunity to start Game 6 of the NLCS at Wrigley Field, which could possibly send the Cubs to the World Series.

One area to watch for the Miami offense against Virginia Tech is explosive pass plays. The Hurricanes have struggled in this category. Brad Kaaya has 21 pass plays that have gone 20 yards or more, ninth in the ACC. Last year, he had 55 pass plays that went 20 or more yards, second in the ACC to Deshaun Watson. The Hokies struggled to contain big pass plays in a loss to Syracuse last week, so perhaps Miami will try to take a few shots downfield to open up the game.

Saints WR Brandin Cooks said he is looking forward to Sunday's rematch against the Chiefs' standout young CB Marcus Peters. The two of them went head-to-head in college in 2013, with Cooks at Oregon State and Peters at Washington. Cooks finished with 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, but mostly while playing catch-up in a 69-27 loss to the Huskies. Peters had two interceptions, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. "It was a battle," Cooks said. "One of those battles, I guess you're going back and forth on punches as you would say in boxing terms. But it was a great one. He made some plays, I made some plays. It was one of those, you remember that game and you build off it."
