Had a chance to chat with Tiger Woods during the Ryder Cup practice round at Hazeltine, where he is serving as a vice captain and was overseeing the group of Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed and Matt Kuchar. Woods is very much invested in his duties; is working out every morning but doesn't have time to hit balls here; seems in good spirits; gave every indication he'll be playing the Safeway Open in two weeks.

Kyle Busch, the 2015 Sprint Cup champion, was honored by President Barack Obama today at The White House. Obama: "There were some people who thought we were going to see a Bush back here in The White House this year, but they didn't know it was going to be Kyle (Busch) – especially after he broke his leg and his foot at Daytona and missed the first three months of the season. But he hunkered down, displaying the same determination in rehab that he is known for on the track."

Just like his days at the University of Florida, Tim Tebow is still beating up on Vanderbilt athletes. This moment was storybook, too. On the first pitch of his first organized game since his junior year of high school, Tebow sent a 91 mph fastball over the left-center wall for a home run. After circling the bases, Tebow was greeted at the plate by his teammates, who had poured out of the dugout. Tebow had quietly taken those teenagers out to dinner Monday and to a movie on Tuesday after intrasquad games. The crowd, announced by the Mets at 269 for the instructional league game, also erupted as Tebow connected and circled the bases. The long ball came off 6-foot-5 left-hander John Kilichowski, who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 11th round out of Vanderbilt University in June.
