It won't take anything away from Carson Wentz's ongoing impressive rookie debut to say that the Eagles' offensive line is protecting him awfully, awfully well in the early going today against the Steelers. Wentz is getting a clean look downfield before most throws.

Dan Graziano ESPN Staff Writer

The Eagles' offense appears designed for Carson Wentz's comfort (even though it was actually designed for Sam Bradford's). So many quick-hit options near the line of scrimmage, and he has clear command of them. Spreading Steelers' defense out for an early 10-0 lead here in Philly.

Les Miles' firing will put the Tigers' fourth-ranked class in jeopardy during one of the most critical stretches of the recruting calendar. Despite questions about Miles' future after last season, LSU was still able to land 20 commitments in the 2017 class, including 12 players ranked in the ESPN 300 and second-ranked defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin. "Les is LSU," longtime Tiger receiver commit Mannie Netherly of Crosby (Texas) High tweeted after the news broke.

Odell Beckham said he was given special warning before game. Surprised he wasn't kicked out for offensive PI call in fourth quarter.

The Chiefs need to clone Marcus Peters, who now has 12 INTs in his first 21 games, counting playoffs. Darrelle Revis had six INTs in his first 21 games (as did Deion Sanders, for that matter).

LSU officials fired football coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on Sunday, one day after the Tigers fell to 2-2 with an 18-13 loss at Auburn. Miles, 62, had a 114-34 record in 12 seasons and guided the Tigers to the 2007 BCS national championship. LSU assistant Ed Orgeron has been named the Tigers' interim coach.

The Broncos' Trevor Siemian is the first quarterback in league history to throw for 300 yards to go with four touchdowns and no interceptions in his first career road start.

Giants have seven turnovers and just one takeaway through three games. Fortunate to be 2-1. Three of next four games are in Minnesota, Green Bay and London. Some stuff needs to be cleaned up, for sure.

Panthers DT Vernon Butler said the high ankle sprain he suffered is something he should be able to play on next week.

Jay Ajayi gives the Dolphins a walk-off win over the Browns with the TD run in OT. Simple Stretch/Zone scheme. Ajayi showed patience and then hit the edge with speed. Miami picks up the 30-24 victory.

The Redskins improved to 1-2 and perhaps saved their season with a 29-27 win over the New York Giants. They got five field goals from Dustin Hopkins, but consistently ignored everything that went against them, including losing four starters to injuries. Their run game produced and the game was saved when rookie linebacker Su'a Cravens made a fantastic diving interception, showing his athleticism – and the reason why the team drafted him in the second round.

NFL

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

That's a great play from Redskins rookie LB Su'a Cravens on the interception. It was an angle route (or a dodge route) from Giants RB Shane Veeren. Cravens was patient, didn't over-play the break and jumped the route to finish on the Eli Manning pass. Big moment for the rookie to show up. Redskins get the 29-27 win.

Is Rex Ryan off the hot seat? It's too early to tell, but the Bills made a statement Sunday that they're still on the map with a 33-18 win over the Super Bowl-contending Cardinals. The Bills took a 17-0 lead in this game by holding Arizona to a total of 2 yards over their first five possessions, and then held on as the Cardinals' offense picked up steam.

Broncos, with a 300- yard passing day for quarterback Trevor Siemian and 100- yard receiving days from both Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, move to 3-0 with win in Cincinnati.

Paul Gutierrez ESPN Staff Writer

Talk about bending but not breaking. This was some Jean-Claude Van Damme flexibility by the Raiders defense in the heat and humidity of Nashville today. Oakland held on for the 17-10 victory over the Titans despite some suspect second-half play. Three takeaways by the defense - INTs by Reggie Nelsn and Sean Smith and a fumble recovery by Nelson - helped mightily as did two Titans penalties in the red zone in the final minute. Oakland gave up 393 yards, or more than 100 less than it did to its previous two opponents. Up next for the 2-1 Raiders, the 3-0 Ravens...in Baltimore.

NFL

ESPN Stats and Information

The Ravens are 3-0 for the 3rd time in team history (2006 and 2009). Joe Flacco had a streak of 21 straight completed pass, tied for the 3rd-longest single-game streak in NFL history (per the Elias Sports Bureau). Flacco's rushing TD gave him 14 for his career, as many as all other Ravens QBs combined. Justin Tucker added his 13th career go-ahead for field goal in the 4th quarter or overtime, most by a kicker in the last 5 seasons.

NFL

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

The Rams have their first touchdown, on the most encouraging play possible -- a 44-yard strike with Brian Quick on a post route. Easily beat his defender. Play action set up that pass. Was a big weapon for them last week, too. This is how you create space for Todd Gurley. You have to make defenses pay for stacking the box.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Time to put the Vikings defense in the discussion with the top units in the NFL. Fast, athletic and physical. A week after shutting down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, Mike Zimmer's defense limits Cam Newton and creates turnovers in the 22-10 win over the Panthers.

Ben Goessling ESPN Staff Writer

The Vikings' defense allowed 23 net yards in the first 25 minutes of the second half. They sacked Cam Newton eight times, forced three turnovers and shut down the league's top-ranked offense. If there's any doubt the group is among the league's best, there probably shouldn't be after a 22-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. The Vikings have plenty of issues to sort out on offense, but they appear to have built the kind of defense that can help them withstand their injury issues.
