NASCAR

Rain has postponed the NASCAR Cup race Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway to 1 p.m. ET Monday. With a forecast of rain throughout the day, NASCAR decided to make the decision more than two hours before the scheduled start of the race, telling the drivers at their prerace meeting that they won't try to wait it out. NASCAR would need at least a three-hour window – and possibly more thanks to cool temperatures and the heavy rains – to dry the track and get at least 250 laps of the 500 scheduled completed for an official race. The forecast is for a 30 to 50 percent chance of rain throughout Monday afternoon.
