Andre Iguodala won't let "The Block" -- as LeBron James' block from last season's NBA Finals is known -- define his legacy. But he'll readily admit that the play was "amazing."

Football's dumbest unwritten rules

"You have to take the points here." "Don't go for two until you have to." "Run the ball here because if you don't go anywhere you can just run out the clock." It's time for unwritten rules to go.

Will Ezekiel Elliott maintain his torrid pace?

Only one other rookie in the past 30 years has rushed for more yards than Ezekiel Elliott in his first six games. What does it mean for his short-term and long-term future?

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

USC had 451 yards of offense in the first half against Cal. That's the most yards a Pac-12 team has registered in a half this season. The last time a Pac-12 team went for more: Cal vs Arizona State last year (458).

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Marcus Mariota stopped for a picture between his press conference and the locker room.

David Lombardi ESPN Staff Writer

When USC's Ronald Jones has 8 carries for 149 yards (18.6 per carry), Cal's hope lies in forcing turnovers.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Titans QB Marcus Mariota put together another very efficient night throwing the football. Mariota finished 18-of-22 for 270 yards and two touchdowns. But fantasy owners of the QB need to see more designed runs. Think zone-read here and RPOs (run-pass options) that create opportunities for Mariota to produce numbers on the ground. For his value to rise, the rushing numbers (and red zone carries off QB designed runs), need to be in play.

Mike DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Coach Gus Bradley said he believes it's still a high-character locker room.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

I can understand the frustration for fantasy owners of Allen Robinson. The Jaguars WR saw 15 targets tonight. That's a big number. But Robinson finished with just six receptions for 70 yards (11.7 yards per reception). On the season, Robinson has yet to produce a game with over 100-yards receiving and QB Blake Bortles has really struggled with his accuracy and technique in the pocket. That has impacted the overall execution in the Jaguars passing game and has limited the opportunities for Robinson.

Mike DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Gus Bradley's response when asked if he expected to be the Jaguars coach when the team plays next Sunday: "Yes."

Mike DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said he doesn't know what the answer is. Said players had some anxiety but that's not an excuse for way they played.

Mariota connects with Wright for TD

Speedy Titans WR Kendall Wright ran by the Jaguars safeties and Marcus Mariota floated a pass nicely to him in stride for the score.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Marcus Mariota finished with an 81.8 completion percentage (18-22). That is the second-highest by a Titans QB with a minimum of 20 attempts since the franchise moved to Tennessee for the 1997 season. The highest was Steve McNair at 82.6 (19-23) on Dec. 8, 2002 vs the Colts. (ESPN Stats and Info.)

Derrick Henry rushes for first career TD

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner found an opening on the right for a 6-yard TD, his first in the NFL.

Murray gets help from Mariota on TD run

DeMarco Murray's 14-yard TD run in the second quarter was a thing of beauty. He reversed field, then followed a block from QB Marcus Mariota for the score.

Dave Tuley ESPN Staff Writer

Titans beat Jaguars 36-22 to kick off NFL Week 8. The ViewFromVegas is they covered as 3-point home favorites and the game went over the total of 43.5. Season to date; home/away teams are 50-50-6 ATS (50 percent each side); underdogs lead faves 54-46-6 ATS (54 percent after pushes removed); overs lead 57-50-1 ATS (53.3 percent).

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

The Titans are 4-4 after a resounding 36-22 win over the Jaguars in their lone primetime game. Tennessee never let the Jags come up for air and pulled starting QB Marcus Mariota and running back DeMarco Murray early in the fourth quarter. If the Texans lose to the Lions Sunday, the Titans will share first place in the AFC South (maybe with a Indy too), though the Texans head-to-head win would give them the tie-breaker.

Arash Markazi ESPN Senior Writer

USC 21, Cal 0 with 12:07 left in the 2nd quarter. Sam Darnold is 8/12 for 87 yards and 3 TDs. Ronald Jones II has 107 yards on 7 carries.

You don't see that every day

When the rest of the Pitt offensive line blocked left, tackle Ryan O'Neil snuck out to the right and took the end-around handoff into the endzone for the score. It was the second touchdown of the season for the 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman.

Adam Rittenberg ESPN Staff Writer

The quarterback switch is just part of the way Clay Helton is restoring USC's offense. Sam Darnold's mobility gives Helton flexibility and what he calls against what defenses. Cal can't stop the run, which is nothing new, but Helton is exploiting it with Ronald Jones II. It's all Trojans so far and USC is looking more like a team that will challenge Washington on Nov. 12.

New team, newfound 3-point range

Dwyane Wade made just seven 3-pointers last season, but he had four Thursday night in his Bulls' debut, including a clinching dagger late in the game.

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Interesting night for an ex-Knick: Tim Hardaway Jr., who was traded for Jerian Grant, has 21 points in 23 minutes for Atlanta tonight. Grant was subsequently dealt to Chicago in the Derrick Rose trade. They say it's unfair to judge moves in a vacuum but if Hardaway continues to play well, history may not look kindly on that Phil Jackson trade.

Dan Graziano ESPN Staff Writer

One of the offseason questions we debated was "Can the Titans win with a power run game in a passing era?" They have the backs for it, which I think we knew. But if the young tackles can keep playing the way they are playing, the answer is undoubtedly "yes."

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Like DeMarco Murray, Marcus Mariota is now in a baseball hat. Matt Cassel throws on the side all the time to be ready. But he may be about to relieve.

Chris Forsberg ESPN Staff Writer

Bulls 105, Celtics 99: Dwyane Wade, who made seven 3-pointers all of last season, was 4-of-6 on triples in his Chicago debut and the Bulls shot much better beyond the arc (44 percent) than they did inside it (25 percent). Isaiah Thomas (25 points) nearly willed Boston back in the fourth quarter but even he missed some free throws down the stretch. Rookie Jaylen Brown a bright spot for Boston and played crunch-time minutes, but had a ill-timed travel in a key moment.

Wade gets warm welcome in Bulls debut

Dwyane Wade received a nice ovation from the United Center crowd after being introduced before his first game as a member of the Bulls.

Crowder-Butler collision leads to scuffle

Tempers flared in the Celtics-Bulls game after Jae Crowder and Jimmy Butler collided. After the pushing and shoving ended, Butler, Crowder, Rajon Rondo and Isaiah Thomas all received technical fouls.

Nick Friedell ESPN Staff Writer

Dwyane Wade makes his Chicago homecoming a good one. 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists as Bulls win opener 105-99 over Celtics. Wade made biggest 3 of night late in 4th and made defensive play that closed the game down.
