Florida hasn't been perfect, but the Gators have played with an edge in jumping out to a 21-3 halftime lead over Tennessee. It was obvious in talking with Florida coach Jim McElwain this offseason that the Gators felt like Tennessee and even Georgia, with Kirby Smart coming aboard as coach, were getting a lot of hype when it was Florida that actually won the East last season. McElwain's pet response all summer was, "We're still going to go play those games. I don't think we'll forfeit."

Move in day for Oregon students was Thursday so I was expecting this to be the rowdiest game day yet (especially since it's the Ducks' first conference opponent). But, with kick off in less than 10 minutes, the student section isn't even full yet.

Tennessee had five drops in the first half Saturday. That's more drops than the Volunteers had in their previous 10 games combined.

Tonight marks the first time that a Sun Belt school HOSTS a top 10 opponent. Texas State welcomes #6 Houston to Bobcat Stadium (7PM EST, ESPNU). Houston head coach Tom Herman and Texas State head coach Everett Withers both served as coordinators at Ohio State under Urban Meyer. Herman and Withers also coached together at Texas under Mack Brown.

Tennessee jogs into its tunnel to the sound of boos from the home crowd with the Gators up 21-3. Tennessee tied a team-high five drops in a single game all in the first half and got just three points on three trips inside the red zone. This is the second time Tennessee has scored just three points in the first half (Week 1 vs. App State). The Gators have taken care of business in the red zone, scoring three touchdowns on three visits and are out-gaining the Vols 300-162. Florida is also 4 of 7 on third downs, while Tennessee is 3 of 10

Michigan's 28 first-half points against Penn State are the most the Wolverines have scored in a first half against the Nittany Lions. This is the sixth first-half shutout for Michigan in the last two seasons, tied with Florida for the most in the FBS during that time.

The boo birds are out at Notre Dame Stadium at halftime, and why wouldn't they be? The Irish have been sloppy in all three phases so far, allowing redshirt freshman QB Daniel Jones to go 13 of 15 for 147 yards and 2 TDs in leading Duke to a 28-21 lead. The Irish have missed a field goal, given away a fumble and allowed a kick return TD. Additionally, Duke is without its best player in DeVon Edwards (leg). But the Blue Devils have bounced back from an early 14-0 hole, and they'll also get back safety Deondre Singleton, who had to sit the first half because of targeting last week.

Crowd favorite: We're less than two hours from kickoff, and LSU star Leonard Fournette is taking pictures with fans inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Don Brown said this week he wanted to force Penn State into a lot of "high freeze" (looking to sideline for the play after initially getting set) to slow things down. He has, and it's working. Michigan has sacks on one-third of the Nittany Lions' pass attempts and has held them to negative-3 rushing yards.

Edward Aschoff ESPN Staff Writer

Tennessee gets inside Florida's 5-yard line (again) and Joshua Dobbs throws an interception to Quincy Wilson in the end zone. That makes two trips close to the red zone (seven inside the 10-yard line) with zero points. The Vols also have four drops in this game. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Vols had the lowest drop pct in the SEC this season (2.7 percent). They had only dropped 2 passes in their first 3 games.

Duke DB DeVon Edwards exited Saturday's game with a left knee injury after getting hurt while returning a kickoff and won't return. Edwards' left leg appeared to buckle as he returned Notre Dame's first kickoff 21 yards. The redshirt senior captain has earned numerous All-ACC and All-America mentions, as he has 6 career kickoff return touchdowns, one shy of the ACC record. Edwards also has 2 career interception returns for touchdowns.

Rookie Alex Reyes helped the Cardinals stay in the middle of the wild card race with a laborious, but impressive outing Saturday in a 10-4 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Reyes pitched out of trouble, but still needed 115 pitches to get through five innings. The Cardinals chased Jason Hammel from the game in the third inning and kept adding against the Cubs' bullpen. The Cardinals pulled into a virtual tie with the Giants and trail the Mets by a game in the wild-card standings pending those teams' night games.

Wisconsin RB Corey Clement on how the Badgers are handling their schedule: "I like these big situations that we come across. I just think we play better against bigger opponents. So keep bringing on the big matchups, and we'll be ready for them." Wish granted. Wisconsin plays at Michigan next week, then hosts Ohio State after a bye.

Duke just absolutely took it to Notre Dame on its last drive. Redshirt freshman QB Daniel Jones completed 6 straight passes to open the drive, then handed it off to Jela Duncan, who went untouched for an 18-yard TD rush. Just like that, Duke has tied the game at 14-all after falling behind 14-0 quickly. The Irish made several substitutions in the defensive backfield on that drive, and you have to wonder about that group's confidence moving forward.
