Sources: Falcons CB Alford extension is for $38M

Falcons cornerback Robert Alford has signed a four-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday. Sources told ESPN the deal is for $38 million with $21 million guaranteed.

Deal is worth $38 million with $21 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Falcons recently extended right tackle Ryan Schrader at five years, $33 million. Injured CB Desmond Trufant should be rewarded with a lucrative deal at some point.

Jansen seems like the priority now since he is the last elite closer available on the market, but as his price skyrockets, the Dodgers could put their resources toward Turner instead. Not that Turner's offensive production and defense would be viewed as a consolation prize.
