Fantasy football mock draft: 10-team PPR

Our final mock draft of the 2016 preseason, a 10-team PPR mock, featured Dez Bryant being selected just outside the first round. How does Tony Romo's injury impact his value?

Rex Ryan will not inform players who are being cut today as part of 75-man cutdown until after practice. "For no better term, we're gonna use this -- we can practice today -- I guess we'll use guys as cannon fodder, if you will," he said. "But that's not really the case. I mean, it is the case, but it's also, if there is an injury or something like that, then you have your whole roster to choose from. But obviously we have a plan in place for letting guys go."

Panthers Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kawann Short is not at practice again. Coach Ron Rivera said on Monday that Short was "sore" from Friday's preseason game against New England. If Short doesn't practice today it will be three straight he has missed. The first two Carolina was installing the game plan for the Sept.8 opener at Denver.

Sounds like Packers receiver Jeff Janis will practice with the club cast again today. "We want to gather information on him playing with it," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "Just give Jeff a chance to compete and there's still some things he can do."

New Panthers punter Andy Lee continues to wear No. 8 as a tribute to his late daughter, Madeline. Lee made the switch from his traditional No.4 to 8 last year after being traded from San Francisco to Cleveland. He did it to honor the memory of Madeline, who lived only eight days in January before dying of complications after her birth. He chose 8 at Carolina after the Panthers acquired him in a trade on Monday.

Dolphins DT Earl Mitchell said he's making progress from his calf injury and would be surprised if he isn't ready for Week 1 of the regular season.

Bills coach Rex Ryan believes that all coaches are in favor of eliminating the 75-man cutdown, which comes today at 4 p.m. and prevents some players on the roster bubble from competing in the fourth preseason game. The Redskins have proposed such a change to the NFL's bylaws for at least the past three league meetings, but it has not been passed.

How much time will Tony Romo miss with a compression fracture in his back? Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones to 105.3 The Fan in Dallas: "I don't know and don't know that anybody does," Jones said. "But it's quite a range there, four to six, six to eight, eight to (10)." Yet coach Jason Garrett has yet to even rule Romo out of the season opener against the New York Giants.

Sean Payton said Saints plan to play their starters in first quarter of Thursday's preseason finale, and it sounds like that includes QB Drew Brees, who hasn't played in preseason finale since 2006. That shows how eager Saints are to get some momentum going after a sloppy 0-3 start to this preseason.
