Boise State's Jeremy McNichols needs to score a touchdown in the next three games to match former Wisconsin running back Montee Ball for the most consecutive games with a touchdown (21) in the last 10 years, according to ESPN Stats and Information. McNichols and BYU's Jamaal Williams are two of the six players in FBS with at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage this year.

Brian Hoyer officially ruled out with a left arm injury. The Bears' emergency quarterback, if it reaches that point, is likely wide receiver Cameron Meredith, who played QB in college at Illinois State before switching to WR.

Jeff Dickerson ESPN Staff Writer

Perennial Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long is currently out of the game with an undisclosed injury. Veteran Ted Larsen is in the game at right guard for Bears. Long has been battling multiple injuries, including a torn left labrum.

Packers RB Don Jackson has a hand injury, his return is questionable. Knile Davis is the only running back left at this point.

Luke Walton gets a loud ovation from the crowd at Dodger Stadium. He said last week he's pulling for the Dodgers but he's hopeful his hometown Padres will be relevant again one day.

The Bears used a "rover" coverage to get off the field on third down. With man-coverage across the board, Bears linebacker Jerrell Freeman is free to read the QB and "wall-off" (or rob) the slant. That's a good call versus Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to take away inside breaking routes. And it's the same scheme the Cowboys used last week to limit the Packers three-step passing game. It's still a 3-0 Packers lead in the second quarter.

Don Jackson just ran into the Packers' locker room. No announcement on an injury yet. Next up: Knile Davis?

With Brian Hoyer back in the locker room, Matt Barkley takes over at QB for the Bears. Hoyer's last completion came on Nov. 3, 2013 while he was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Eddie Lacy was averaging 5.1 yards per carry for the Packers this year. So far tonight, Aaron Rodgers is averaging 4.8 yards per pass attempt.

Justin Turner has now reached base in a Dodgers record 15 consecutive postseason games, doing it with his first career hit against Jon Lester. Turner singled in the third inning after going 0-for-14 against Lester previously.

There was a time when QB Matt Barkley was projected as a potential No. 1 overall pick in the draft. It appears he is about to enter tonight's game for the Bears, who are his third team in three years. This could get ugly quickly.

Bears quarterback Brian Hoyer is down on the field after a hard hit on 3rd down. Hoyer being helped back to the bench. Matt Barkley is the Bears' backup QB tonight.

Jeff Dickerson ESPN Staff Writer

First completion of the night to Alshon Jeffery happened early in the second quarter. Bears quarterback Brian Hoyer entered the game completing 64.7 percent of his pass attempts to Jeffery. So far tonight, Jeffery is 1-for-5 when targeted.

Aaron Rodgers threw 18 passes in the first quarter for the Packers. Multiply that out by four quarters and, well, you've got a lot. My math says it would be 72 attempts.

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

Twelve of Rodgers' 18 pass attempts in that quarter were thrown 5 or fewer yards downfield, he was 8-of-12 for 53 yards on those throws, per ESPN Stats & Info.

The ageless Jaromir Jagr scores his first goal of the season and No. 750 for his career to pull the Panthers even with the Capitals in the second period. He's really amazing. All smiles on the bench right now.

Dan Graziano ESPN Staff Writer

Love the decision to go for it on 4th and goal from the 1. Not so much the decision to try and run for it without a running back. Still, got to credit McCarthy for creative solutions to personnel problems. And credit the Bears' defense, which looks quick and disciplined in the front seven so far.

Kevin Seifert NFL Nation

While the Packers obviously wanted a touchdown on that fourth down, they left the Bears' offense in terrible position at the 1-yard line. Given the way the first quarter has gone, they can reasonably expect to get the ball back in excellent field position.

Post-DPI note: Aaron Rodgers entered this game leading the NFL in penalty expected points added (EPA). Doesn't show up in passer rating, but it's one reason his Total QBR was about what it's been thru the first five games of seasons previously.
