Joey Bosa said his mom Cheryl Bosa did not realize her Facebook comments on social media were public when she said her family should have done what Eli Manning did to the Chargers: "What do you expect from a mom?" Bosa said. "She wants what is best for me. ... It was a dumb decision. Leave it to a mom to mess up like this."

Joey Bosa said he did not get involved in the business part of contract negotiations. He trusted his parents and agents to do what's best because they've been through it before. He said it was strange to watch his team playing on TV. "We came to a fair deal and there's no animosity between any of us."

The low flying jets that buzzed the Panthers' practice on Monday were not practicing for a flyover for a game as first reported: Here is a statement from the FAA: "The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is looking into reports that a flight of four U.S. Air Force A-10 aircraft flew at a low altitude over the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC, late this morning. FAA Air Traffic Controllers approved the pilots' request to fly over the stadium after they departed from Charlotte Douglas International Airport at 11:35 am. The flight was headed to Valdosta, GA. An FAA employee incorrectly told an official at Charlotte Douglas International Airport that the flight was a practice flyover for a football game."

Drew Brees said he felt compelled to speak out against Colin Kaepernick's method of protest Monday, saying it was "bothering me all day long." The Saints quarterback, who is a passionate military supporter, said the American flag is "sacred." "I disagree. I wholeheartedly disagree," Brees said. "Not that he wants to speak out about a very important issue. No, he can speak out about a very important issue. But there's plenty of other ways that you can do that in a peaceful manner that doesn't involve being disrespectful to the American flag."
