The new CBA seems to be very good for the Yankees. While they very well could duck underneath the luxury tax threshold in 2018 when the number will climb to $197M, it may not be imperative. Even if they are slightly above it, their taxes will drop dramatically. With the Yankees youth movement, there is still a very good chance they will shop at the top of the market for multiple pieces in the winter prior to 2019 when Bryce Harper and Manny Machado lead an epic free agent class.

Nobody knows for sure if Tiger Woods was contractually obligated to play a Nike putter but his answer Friday to a question about when he put the Scotty Cameron model back in his hands -- he won 13 of his 14 majors with it -- is telling. "The day (NIke) got out of the hard-goods side,'' Woods said Friday after shooting 65. Many were surprised when Woods ditched the Cameron at the 2010 Open and went full-time with a Nike Method (mostly) from 2011 on. Woods won some $80-million in prize money with that putter from 1999 through 2010.
