Burton teamed up with famed British fashion designer Paul Smith to create the 2011 Burton Vapor snowboard. It features a sophisticated black glossy topsheet and includes Paul Smith's signature and Burton branding.
This isn't the first time Burton and Smith have worked together -- the two companies have produced apparel and outerwear lines. In 2007 Smith and Burton began a collaboration project that featured high-end edgy looks that are unique to snowboarding. Burton has since released street-wear lines (pea coats, sweaters and jeans) with the Paul Smith name attached. The limited edition collections found worldwide success, something Burton hopes to repeat with the new snowboard design.
"Burton Snowboards is a company I admire very much and I have enjoyed working with them over the past four years," Paul Smith said in a press release. "To see my signature stripes on such an innovative piece of equipment as the Vapor snowboard is a great compliment."
The new board runs for about $1,200 and is available at Burton retailers around the globe.
