After producing and hosting the Grenade Games for the past two years, Monster Energy announced on Monday the launch of a new snowboarding event that will take place April 15-19, during the first week of the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler.

The Grenade Games, in its seventh year, heads to California's Bear Mountain from March 25-27. Replacing it in Whistler is "The Show."

Other events scheduled at the TWSSF include the 72-Hour Filmmaker Showdown, the Pro Photographer Showdown and the World Skiing Invitational.

"With the Grenade Games moving south again this year we found ourselves with a big opportunity to build momentum on the massive successes in past years. Lots of the great event ideas that we're executed in past seasons will stick around, such as the Mogul Mash contest that has become the new trademark and we're also stoked to bring in some new ideas like the Stylecross (Boarderstyle.)" that I think will blow everyone away," said industry veteran and Director of "The Show" Dano Pendygrasse.

"This is the biggest thing to happen to Whistler since the Grenade Games -- can't wait!" said two-time Olympic medalist and reality show star Danny Kass.

"The greatest aspect of the sport of snowboarding and the associated culture, these days and especially at this time of year, is that it's all about fun!" says Nelson Phillips, Director of Marketing at Monster Energy Canada and the Producer of "The Show."

All of the snowboard contests are open to all snowboarders. Registration begins March 14, and can be found, along with schedule, details and updates, at wssf.com.
