To say that Kaya Turski is on a winning streak would be an understatement. The Montreal native earned gold at the 2010 and 2011 Winter X Games in Aspen, gold at the final stop of the Winter Dew Tour in February, and another gold at last year's inaugural Winter X Europe.
On Wednesday, she'll drop into the Slopestyle course in Tignes, France, to defend her Winter X Europe title. The same course, mind you, that ripped apart her knee on the final jump of her victory lap last year. This year, however, she's feeling strong.
Strong enough for another gold? We'll see. Turski barely edged out second place's Keri Herman in Aspen and she was beat by Anna Segal at the FIS Freestyle World Championships in early February. So, although Turski is the clear favorite to take women's ski Slopestyle on Wednesday, there's certainly no guarantee.
In addition to Logan, the women's ski Slopestyle field is packed with some promising young rookies, including 15-year-old Katie Summerhayes from Great Britain, who's the youngest woman competing at Winter X Europe, and Emma Dahlstrom from Sweden, who recently won the European Freeski Open.
In the video above, we checked in with Turski here in Tignes to find out her predictions for this week's women's Slopestyle finals and rumors of what tricks she may be unveiling. You can watch the women's ski Slopestyle finals live online at 8 a.m. ET at ESPN3.com.
