ACC in the morning - Miami fans still paying the price

Posted by ESPN.com's Heather Dinich

Goooood morning ACC fans!

Did you hear that all the way down there in Florida? Good, because today is important. It marks the end of the LAST week of the dreaded offseason.

Georgia Tech gets things started first on Tuesday with the league's first official practice of the season, followed by UNC a week from today and Miami on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Speaking of Miami ... A 5-7 season apparently didn't faze Hurricanes fans who are spending money on tickets instead of gasoline. (Still a better buy, in my opinion.)

Speaking of tickets ... Clemson has more money than it has seats.

FSU fans? Not as much. Ticket sales are down. So are the wins, which is why Bobby Bowden and Drew Weatherford have a lot of work to do this season.

Everette Brown is certainly doing his part.

Way up 95 in the Baltimore/D.C. region, Navy fans are still missing this guy.
Somehow I missed this one yesterday on David Cutcliffe's recruiting efforts in North Carolina. It looks like he commanded the attention of area high school coaches the same way he did his own players.

Cutcliffe already snagged one from Rutgers.

Speaking of Duke ... I know this is a reach, but the word "football" was mentioned in this article about former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's son being kicked off the Blue Devils golf team. It was hard not to laugh at this citation of "misconduct":

On Feb. 4, during a golf-team football game, "Andrew played harder than some of the other boys wanted to play."

Somebody introduce this guy to Cutcliffe.
