ACC recruiting nuggets

A few afternoon recruiting nuggets for you, courtesy of the fine folks at ESPN recruiting.

  • Boston College finally got on the board for 2011 as defensive end Kieran Borcich became the Eagles' first verbal commitment. Borcich, who recorded 24 sacks as a high school junior, picked Boston College ahead of Rutgers.

  • Several ACC schools were in the mix for offensive lineman Ross Burbank, but he's heading to play for Mike London at Virginia.

  • Maryland became the first BCS school to offer a scholarship to tight end Darien Bryant from Pickerington, Ohio. Toledo also has offered Bryant.

  • Clemson remains in the lead for running back recruit Mike Bellamy, who has developed a bond with Tigers star C.J. Spiller, colleague JC Shurburtt writes.
