Virginia and UTSA agree to series

Virginia will play a two-game, home-and-home series with the University of Texas at San Antonio starting in 2013, UVA announced today.

The Cavaliers and Roadrunners will meet Nov. 2, 2013 in Charlottesville and UTSA will host Virginia at the Alamodome on Nov. 8, 2014.

UTSA will begin as an FCS independent in 2011 and will apply to transition to full FBS status by the 2014 season. Virginia will be allowed to count both games toward their bowl eligibility.

The Roadrunners hired former Miami head coach Larry Coker in 2009 as the school's first football coach. UTSA signed its first recruiting class in February and will redshirt all incoming players during the 2010-11 academic year. The team will play its first game against Northeastern (Okla.) State on Sept. 3, 2011, at the Alamodome. UTSA had previously announced home-and-home series with Louisiana Tech, Colorado State, Houston, Kansas State, Arizona, Arizona State and Baylor.
