Thearon Collier in talks with USC

Former Miami receiver Thearon Collier is talking to USC about possibly transferring there, but he hasn't been admitted yet, a source said. Collier had met with Miami's staff earlier this month about his future with the team, as he was dealing with some personal issues. He was released from his scholarship at the beginning of the month.

Collier bid farewell to Miami on his Facebook page on Monday with a post that read: THS MY LAST WEEK IN MIA B4 I HEAD OFF TO CALI TO PERSUIT MY FOOTBALL CAREER ...

Collier had been an impact player on special teams for the Hurricanes, but he wasn't their top receiver. He had one start last year, against Virginia Tech. He had 18 receptions for 250 yards. He ran a punt back 60 yards for a touchdown against Virginia and ran another one back 61 yards for a score against Florida A&M. He became the first Hurricane to have multiple punt returns for touchdowns in a season since 2004.
