Update on NC State's Wilson

The good news is that NC State quarterback Russell Wilson doesn't need surgery for the knee sprain he suffered in the Papajohns.com Bowl.

The bad news is that we don't know how long the recovery process is. I'm told by a school spokesman that they've said all they can say on the matter, so it's unclear if he'll miss any spring football or baseball.

There's another talented quarterback waiting in the wings, though, and this spring should provide some interesting competition between Wilson and Mike Glennon. Coach Tom O'Brien says Wilson has to earn his starting job back.
