Here is the latest report from ESPN's Tom Luginbill:

Tar Heels snare huge tackle Travis Bond

Name: Travis Bond, OT
Windsor, N.C.
Bertie H.S.
Scouts Grade: 80
Position Rank: 17

The 6-foot-7, 330-pound Bond, from Bertie (Windsor, N.C.), has committed to North Carolina.

Bond, rated No. 13 among offensive tackles nationally in the Class of 2009, had visited Michigan, North Carolina State and East Carolina. He also has offers from South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Maryland.

ESPN's Bill Conley added, "Butch Davis picks up a huge commitment in terms of size and quality. Offensive tackle Travis Bond adds to a class that is a potential top ten class if the Tar Heels can have a strong finish. Bond is part of a class that has four ESPN top 150 players. Davis' biggest problem may be how to fit in all the recruits that now numbers twenty seven.

"Bond has a tremendous wing span which makes him a very solid pass-protector. He uses his long arms and hands to deliver a good initial punch both in the pass and run game. Bond plays a little high but comes off the ball with power and keeps his legs driving after contact. He should develop into a very good college tackle once he grows into his body."

North Carolina stays hot with pledge from Robinson

Name: Gene Robinson, S
Memphis, Tenn.
Whitehaven H.S.
Scouts Grade: 80
Position Rank: 17

Defensive back Gene Robinson has pledged to sign with the Tar Heels according to multiple sources. He picked North Carolina over scholarship offers from programs such as Alabama, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Colorado.

ESPN's Bill Conley elaborated on the pledge, "The North Carolina staff keeps reeling football talent to Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels pick up the nation's No. 17-rated safety Gene Robinson, who is the top ranked of four safeties in a North Carolina class that is large in both quantity and quality.

"Robinson is one of the most physical defensive backs in the 2009 class. Pound for pound, Robinson is as tough as they come. He absolutely loves contact and explodes through ball carriers when making a hit. Robinson is a real terror on the blitz that will not be denied when his number is called. He is also a very solid pass defender that collisions receivers through his zone. Robinson is versatile to play either the free or strong safety position and can also be a major contributor on special teams."

Wolfpack nabs Rock Hill tight end / defensive end

Name: Asa Watson, DE
Rock Hill, S.C.
Rock Hill H.S.
Scouts Grade: 67
Position Rank: 202

Asa Watson of Rock Hill, S.C., has agreed to a Class of 2009 scholarship offer from North Carolina State.

The 6-foot-3, two-way player, who caught 16 passes for 423 yards and two touchdowns this fall, was also recruited by Maryland, Vanderbilt and Duke.
