Wake defense struggles again

Stanford All Over Wake Forest, 68-24 (0:47)

Andrew Luck threw four TD passes and ran for another in No. 19 Stanford's rout (0:47)

For the second straight week, Wake Forest's defense struggled, as the Deacs allowed Stanford's Andrew Luck to find the end zone in all eight drives of a 68-24 Cardinal win.

The biggest question for Wake Forest heading into this season was quarterback, where it had to replace Riley Skinner, but the defense has been the bigger issue in the past two losses. Wake gave up its most points since losing 72-13 to Florida State in 1995.

Tanner Price, the first true freshman to start under coach Jim Grobe and only the third true freshman quarterback to start in the country this year, threw an interception but he led the team in rushing. The bottom line was that Wake allowed 535 yards of total offense and Stanford didn't turn it over once. It doesn't get any easier for the Deacs, as they now have to travel to Florida State for a key Atlantic Division game.
