These recruiting notes are from Monday and Tuesday, so you might have heard about some of these, but it's good news for the Noles. Sam Barrington, though, picked South Florida over Miami. Check it out:

Dontae Aycock dropped by Jackets

Chamberlain H.S.
Scouts Grade: 77
Position Rank: 76

Quarterback / running back Dontae Aycock of Chamberlain (Tampa, Fla.), who had given a "secret commitment" to Georgia Tech three weeks ago, has had his offer pulled by the Jackets.

Aycock was warned by Georgia Tech of the consequences if he took an official visit to Auburn last weekend. He went on the trip and lost his scholarship.

The prospect is now expected to sign with Auburn as a running back. He has more than 30 offers, including Louisville, South Carolina, Illinois, West Virginia, Mississippi, Duke and New Mexico.

As a senior, Aycock passed for 1,491 yards and 17 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,406 yards and 28 scores.

Markish Jones hopes to find a home with Cal

Head coach Jeff Tedford of California has received a commitment from receiver Markish Jones of Broome (Spartanburg, S.C. / Compton CC. Calif.).

A 6-foot, 185-pound standout, Jones caught 39 passes for 521 yards and seven touchdowns this past season.

Jones created a national recruiting controversy as a prep by signing with both Clemson and then Florida State on the same day. As he signed with Clemson first, the ACC ruled in favor of the Tigers. Jones then never enrolled at Clemson and spent the last two seasons at Compton.
