Congrats to Virginia Tech.
With their convincing win over rival Virginia, the Hokies became the first ACC team to go undefeated in conference play since Florida State in 2000. It's a remarkable turnaround from the 0-2 start, and everyone within the program deserves credit for it. Coach Frank Beamer will certainly -- and deservedly -- get Coach of the Year consideration. The Hokies have been the most consistent team in the ACC, and left no doubt today they were the better team. Virginia has a long way to go before it catches up with Virginia Tech. The difference was in the running game, where the Hokies had 201 yards to the Hoos' 70. The trio of Ryan Williams, David Wilson and Darren Evans accounted for four touchdowns.
Virginia Tech's undefeated run through conference play is truly impressive and it proves that it can be done. The ACC just needed to find a team good enough to do it.
