This one is going to be tough for Miami coach Randy Shannon to explain.
Not only have the Canes lost the Coastal Division again, now they've lost the season finale to a South Florida team that is ranked No. 103 in the nation in total offense. The loss was an embarrassment for Miami, its fans and the ACC. Miami fans have been criticized for their poor attendance, but Shannon hasn't given them much to applaud.
Quarterback Stephen Morris couldn't beat the Bulls. Jacory Harris couldn't do it. And neither could Shannon. He's the one who should be held accountable. The only question is when. Because Miami is a private school, the financial details of Shannon's contract, and whether or not the school could even afford a buyout, are confidential. What it can't afford, though, is more losses like the one Miami had today.
