UNC CB arrested, released from LOI

Angelo Hadley of Tampa, Fla., has been released from his national letter of intent to play football at North Carolina, the school announced Thursday morning.

The St. Petersburg Times reported that Hadley was arrested -- again. He was charged with three felony counts, according to the report.

From the St. Pete Times:

Hadley was charged with third-degree grand theft, grand theft of a firearm and armed burglary of a dwelling with firearm possession, all third-degree felonies.

It is the second time this month Hadley, who turned 18 in September, had been arrested. On April 5, he was arrested and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery. He was released that morning on $15,000 bond.

Hadley was rated the No. 60 cornerback in the nation by ESPN's Scouts Inc., but it doesn't matter now.

There is no way that Butch Davis and his staff didn't have any hint that Hadley might make some bad decisions. The whole reason assistants are recruiting this spring is to find out about character -- not to watch kids play football.
