ACC recruiting NFL talent at linebacker

Posted by ESPN.com's Heather Dinich

It's no surprise there are going to be a few linebackers on the list of the top 30 players in the ACC -- it's just keeping with the tradition.

According to the ACC and the pre-training camp rosters on NFL.com, the ACC leads all other conferences by a wide margin in producing NFL linebackers. Heading into this year's preseason camp, the ACC had no fewer than 62 of its former linebackers on NFL rosters. The next closest league to the ACC was the Big Ten which had produced 51, followed by the SEC with 48.

All ACC schools produced at least two former linebackers on NFL rosters, led by Miami with 11, followed closely by Maryland, which has produced 10 -- followed in order by FSU (8), Virginia (7) and Georgia Tech (6).
