Once again, the ACC should have some of the country’s top defensive players.
Some, like BC linebacker Luke Kuechly, who was a unanimous All-America selection last year, have already made a name for themselves. Others, like UNC’s Quinton Coples and Maryland’s Kenny Tate, are on the verge of making some national noise.
It should be a tight race to name this year’s ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Most of the league’s top candidates were highlighted on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List, which was announced on Tuesday.
Of those 11 candidates, I picked four who are my preseason picks as front-runners to win the ACC’s top defensive award.
It’s poll time.
Submit your votes now and I’ll highlight the winner on Friday in a separate post.
