GT's Johnson still undecided on QB Vad Lee

Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said on Wednesday that he's still undecided as to whether or not true freshman quarterback Vad Lee will see playing time this season.

"Vad's had a really good camp," Johnson said. "He's come in, he's probably well ahead of where we thought he would be. We're excited about him. I think he's very talented. We haven't really made a decision yet on whether we're going to play him this year or not. He's certainly on our travel squad and will dress. We're going to have to make that decision here pretty quickly, but he's done great, and we're really excited about Vad."

Lee and Synjyn Days both pushed starter Tevin Washington this offseason, but there's no question Washington is the starter heading into Thursday night's season opener against Western Carolina. Lee, a native of Durham, N.C., rushed for 1,300 yards and threw for 3,223 last season.
