ACC record in sight this week for Kuechly

Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly has 509 career tackles and needs just seven more to set an ACC record for career hits. He currently is in fourth place on the all-time ACC list behind former Clemson standout Bubba Brown (515). Considering the pace Kuechly plays at, he might set the record in the first quarter. Last week against NC State, Kuechly racked up nine of his 18 tackles in the final 13 minutes of the game.

Keep in mind that Kuechly is on the verge of setting this career record as a junior.

"Nothing surprises me with Luke," coach Frank Spaziani said. "He's just a fantastic football player that just gets to the ball and makes plays. I don't know where our defense would be without him, really. He's a special player. I'm sure he's not even concerned or aware of it. He just goes out and plays one game at a time and one series at a time, really. He's all focused. You combine that with his talent, and this is the end result."
