This is not a prestigious award, I assure you, but Virginia and Duke have made their way into this week's Bottom 10 with their losses to FCS teams. At least Duke lost to the defending FCS national champion, but still ...
Rob Daniels, a longtime ACC reporter based in the Greensboro area, dug up a great note on that this week for the ACC Sports Journal. It's the first time since at least 1995 that any BCS conference has lost twice to the FCS in a season. From 1996 through the present, the only BCS conference to lose twice to the FCS in an entire season was the Big Ten in 2006, the year before Appalachian State beat Michigan. (In 2006, Indiana lost to Southern Illinois and Northwestern lost to New Hampshire in a meeting of Wildcats.)
Way to make history in one week, ACC, and welcome to the Bottom 10.
