A couple of quick factoids for you from the ESPN Stats & Information department on this weekend's games that include ranked teams:
North Carolina is trying for its first back-to-back seasons with 2-0 starts since 1996-97.
Connecticut is 1-12 all-time against ranked teams.
TCU, which plays at Virginia, is 11-3 in its last 14 games against teams from BCS automatic-qualifying conferences.
UVA is 12-17 against ranked teams under Al Groh (since 2001), and is 2-3 all-time against the Mountain West.
If Maryland loses to James Madison (ranked No. 6 in the FCS), the Colonial Athletic Association will have three wins over the ACC in the first two weeks of the season. Last week, Richmond knocked off Duke and William & Mary beat Virginia. Fortunately for the ACC, Boston College beat Northeastern, so the Colonial can’t get a season sweep.
Virginia Tech has not started 0-2 since 1995.
In the Hokies' last meeting against a C-USA team, they were upset by East Carolina in the 2008 season opener.
Marshall is just 4-14 against current ACC teams. Its last victory came in 1999 against Clemson.
