Not only have six players already asked for and been granted their release to transfer, but now Maryland's offensive coordinator Gary Crowton has also said there's another opportunity out there that's better for him. Crowton has told the Denver Post that he would like to be the next head coach at Colorado State.
Crowton is a former defensive back for Colorado State, so it's easy to see why he would want the job. And considering Maryland's erosion to a 2-10 record this year, it's also easy to see why some are jumping ship. There could also be staff changes coming in College Park, though not at the top, where coach Randy Edsall is safe. For now. Might Crowton be the next in line to leave? The bigger question might be whether Maryland fans even want him back. The Terps averaged 23 points per game -- 10th in the ACC.
In other Maryland news, linebacker Alex Twine has been charged with disorderly conduct after an officer spotted him ranting and punching cars. I'll just leave that one alone.
