North Carolina has made one of the five best coaching hires this offseason, according to ESPN's Brock Huard. UNC's hire of Larry Fedora checked in at No. 4 on Huard's list. Here's an excerpt of his analysis:
Fedora will win at North Carolina, but how quickly and to what extent will depend on exactly what the NCAA levies against the school. Fedora became a very wanted man on the coaching circuit and had his pick of a number of jobs.
Ultimately he settled on Carolina for the same reasons we presented weeks ago in naming the Tar Heels job one of the best on the market: ideal living conditions, centralized recruiting base, tremendous facilities and the ability to compete immediately in the ACC.
