Ultimate ACC road trip: Week 10

Welcome back to the ACC’s ultimate road trip. In case you’re just joining us, this series is your ticket to each of the best games in the ACC every week. These are the games that – if you had the money and the time – you would want to be at this fall. The season is still a long ways off, but here in the blogosphere, it’s a November to remember. Here’s a look at Week 10:

Thursday, November 1

  • Virginia Tech at Miami, ESPN

Saturday, November 3

  • Boston College at Wake Forest

  • Clemson at Duke

  • Georgia Tech at Maryland

  • Virginia at NC State

My choice: Hokies at Canes

Why: It should easily be the best game on the schedule this week, and also the most meaningful to the conference race. Plus, who turns down a trip to Miami in November? Virginia Tech will have a bye week to prepare for this nationally televised Thursday night game, and they're going to need the break after a four-week stretch that includes three road games, including a matchup against Cincinnati at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., and a road trip to Clemson. The Miami game is the first of back-to-back Thursday night games for the Hokies, the second being Florida State. It's not an easy second half of the season for Virginia Tech, so the Hokies can't afford to trip up against the Canes or look past them to the Noles. While Miami isn't favored to win the division, the Canes could certainly play the role of spoiler in this game.
