Questions remain for playoff

The FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick on Wednesday endorsed a seeded four-team playoff model for college football that would begin for the 2014 season, but several major questions still remain.

The four-team playoff is exactly what ACC commissioner John Swofford was in favor of, but ESPN.com is reporting that the commissioners are leaning heavily toward a selection committee to determine the four teams -- not the ACC's first choice. If preference is given to conference champions, though, the ACC could live with it.

The playoff proposal can't move forward without the approval of the BCS presidential oversight committee, which meets Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
