Duke freshman DE Jackson has surgery

Duke freshman defensive end Allen Jackson had successful surgery to repair a 360-degree labral tear in his right shoulder, the school announced on Thursday.

Jackson, a true freshman, came to Duke from McDonogh High School, where he was ranked the No. 86 defensive end in the nation by ESPN.com. He had 80 tackles, caused two fumbles and had three pass breakups his senior season. His surgery was on Wednesday.
