Wake Forest nose guard Nikita Whitlock, who sprained his ankle in last Saturday's win over North Carolina, didn't practice on Monday and his status is still uncertain for Saturday's game at Florida State.
"My guess would be that he may be ready go by Saturday," coach Jim Grobe told reporters at his weekly news conference. "But I don't know how much practice time he'll get. I think unless they can find something that's torn or damaged that we don't know about, it's going to be how quickly he heals up. That's going to be a day-to-day thing."
A school spokesman said that Whitlock's status won't be official until Thursday's injury report is released.
