Despite a few tough nonconference losses in Week 3, the ACC held on to the No. 4 spot in the latest edition of the ESPN Stats & Information conference power rankings.
That does not mean it was all good news for the ACC. The league lost several points because of its losses, most notably Virginia Tech falling to previously winless Pitt. Overall, the ACC lost all four of its nonconference games to teams from automatic qualifying conferences on Saturday.
Still, the ACC remained a hair ahead of the Big Ten, which also lost points after Michigan State fell to Notre Dame. There is no Big Ten school ranked in the AP Top 15.
What is apparent is a clear separation from the top three conferences in the rankings -- the Big 12, SEC and Pac-12. At this point, the ACC and Big Ten are not even close.
Here are the latest rankings.
