FSU quarterback EJ Manuel continues to rack up the accolades this week for his performance in the Seminoles' 49-37 come-from-behind win over Clemson. On Monday he was named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week.
Manuel completed 27 of 35 passes for a career-high 380 yards while rushing for an additional 102 yards. Manuel was the first Seminoles quarterback to surpass 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a game since 1993 Davey O’Brien winner Charlie Ward in 1992.
“They were mixing up looks and bringing in blitzes from everywhere and he made plays when he had to,” said coach Jimbo Fisher, according to the release. “But I thought he was extremely selfless and understood how to win. I was very proud of him.”
Manuel beat out some pretty good quarterbacks in Week 4.
