Miami senior defensive end Dyron Dye injured his right Achilles tendon during Miami's first spring scrimmage on March 23, and is out indefinitely, the school announced on Tuesday.
"It's terribly disappointing," coach Al Golden told the Miami Herald earlier today. "It was basically a non-contact [injury] if you will, just running. We're all praying for him."
Dye played in all 12 games as a tight end in 2012 and started eight. He caught four passes for 48 yards. As a sophomore in 2011, Dye moved from the defensive line to tight end, where he played in six games and made two starts.
