The ACC's support for Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich continues to grow, as Virginia is the latest program to join forces with Uplifting Athletes in support of research for Ewing's Sarcoma cancer. UVA students will be collecting donations around university grounds prior to Saturday's game against Duke. A ceremonial check will be presented to Herzlich when BC visits Virginia on Nov. 14.
In addition to the $31,500 the BC players raised through their “Lift For Life” event this summer, they have now received gifts from Dabo Swinney at Clemson, Orange Bowl officials, Florida State, Virginia Tech, NC State and Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis. The Eagles have raised more than $81,000 for Uplifting Athletes since they started their chapter in July.
