Wake Forest quarterback Riley Skinner is questionable for next Saturday's game at Georgia Tech with a mild concussion he suffered Saturday against Miami, the school announced Sunday.
Skinner has undergone a CT scan and will be cleared by a doctor before returning to practice. Wake Forest didn't practice tonight and will return to the field Monday night.
Skinner left the Miami game after a hard hit without his helmet along the Wake Forest sideline with 6:22 remaining in the game and the Demon Deacons holding a 27-21 lead over Miami. On the play, Skinner picked up 12 yards on a third-and-eight to give Wake Forest a first down at its own 29. He was replaced at quarterback by fifth-year senior Ryan McManus.
Skinner completed 29 of 43 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns against Miami. He also scored on a seven-yard run and caught a 17-yard pass. McManus hit on five of nine passes for 42 yards during the most extensive playing time of his career.
During the Miami game, Skinner set the school record for passes attempted in a career and the most 300-yard passing games in a season with four. He also moved into second place in the ACC record book with 824 career pass completions.
