Here we go again ...
North Carolina 28, Connecticut 24 -- Three of the Huskies' five wins have come by five points or fewer, including their 12-9 overtime win against Temple. In order to win this game, the Tar Heels will need to contain Donald Brown on defense and get starter-like play again from backup quarterback Cam Sexton.
NC State 21, Boston College 17 -- That's if Russell Wilson plays. If. Both teams are trying to find their identity in the passing game, and Wilson could be the difference. Yes, the Eagles' defense looks outstanding on paper, but in their lone ACC game, they gave up 4.1 yards per rush in a loss to Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech 28, Duke 21 -- Is Duke a good football team? Yes. But they haven't played on the road yet or faced a defense of this caliber. The stakes are higher for the Yellow Jackets, who have already dropped a Coastal Division game to Virginia Tech.
Virginia Tech 31, Western Kentucky 6 -- The Hilltoppers are in their second year of reclassifying from an FCS program to an FBS and come into Lane Stadium with a 2-3 record. This should be another weekend for the Hokies to improve before heading into the heart of their ACC schedule.
Florida State 14, Miami 10 -- The Seminoles have the better defense, and proved it against Wake Forest, whereas the Hurricanes gave up too many big plays in their loss to North Carolina. Whichever team is more effective running the ball will win this game, and on paper, that's the Seminoles.
Maryland 35, Virginia 7 -- There is no excuse for the Terps not to come out of Charlottesville with a 5-1 record. Virginia is last in the ACC in scoring offense (9 ppg), last in scoring defense (32 ppg), last in total offense (251.2 ypg), last in rushing offense (66 ypg) ... you get the idea.
OFF: Clemson, Wake Forest.
