Two Pitt players won't return this season

Pitt defensive end Bryan Murphy, who started nine games last season, and fullback Mark Giubilato will not return for their final seasons of eligibility and instead will focus on graduating this year, a school spokesman confirmed on Thursday.

Both players would have been fifth-year seniors. Murphy played in 10 games in 2013 and had 15 tackles. Giubilato played in all 13 games, primarily on special teams, and had 11 tackles on coverage units.

Pitt opens spring practice on Sunday.
