The coaching shake-up at Florida State hasn't deterred some of the nation's top recruits from committing to play at FSU. In fact, it might have helped.
For the second time in the past six days, Florida State has landed a top-five recruit. The best part for Seminoles fans? They're both defensive stars.
JC Shurburtt of ESPN's Scouts Inc. is reporting that Under Armour All-American Lamarcus Joyner, ranked No. 5 overall in the ESPNU 150 and listed as the No. 1 cornerback in the nation, committed to the Seminoles late Wednesday night. Under Armour All-American Jeff Luc, ranked No. 6 overall and the top-rated inside linebacker, committed to Florida State on Saturday.
This is exactly what Florida State needs -- players and direction. It looks like this program is finally starting to get both.
