Harper has surgery, BC's Toal done for the season

Clemson quarterback Cullen Harper had successful shoulder surgery today and will return to practice early this week, but Boston College linebacker Brian Toal is out for the season with a broken fibula.

Harper didn't sound too worried about his shoulder on Saturday and said it didn't affect him during the Georgia Tech game.

It's a huge loss for Boston College, though, as it's the second blow to the Eagles defense. Earlier this year BC lost defensive end Alex Albright to a neck injury. It's most unfortunate for Toal, though, because his season was marred by injury last year and he redshirted just so he could play his fifth and final year of eligibility.
