Clemson loses another lineman: Bowl chances slim

Not sure if you guys saw this last night, but Clemson starting guard Barry Humphries is out for the year. He tore his ACL at practice on Thursday.

Even though Humphries didn't play much this year because of injury, he had a good game against Georgia Tech and he could have been an impact player for what's left of the season. The Tigers definitely could have used him against Boston College.

This has to be deflating for an already deflated team. You're supposed to heal during the bye week, get better.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've got some serious doubts about Clemson making it to a bowl game this year. I'm looking at the rest of their schedule -- back-to-back road trips to Boston College and Florida State, Duke, at Virginia and South Carolina -- and I'm not seeing four more wins.

They've played two FCS schools (Citadel and South Carolina State) so it will take seven to make it.

But, hey, if they do find four more, it would be a fitting end to their season -- proving my prediction wrong. Again.
