Parker watch

Hang with me for a second as I deviate from college football and turn to college baseball.

The Clemson baseball team is 3-0 after facing three different opponents this past weekend. Why do you care?

Because Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker had a little something to do with it -- five hits, one home run (about 400 feet to left field) and five RBIs. Against Miami (Ohio), Parker hit a three-run homer. He's hitting .417 right now.

Memo to Tajh Boyd: Get ready.

Both Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Billy Napier have expressed confidence that Parker will be their quarterback this fall, but in the end, it will be Parker's decision to make. The only question is whether it comes this June or next. If Parker continues this pace throughout the season, it's going to be tough to keep him around. Whether you're a Clemson fan or not, this story is worth watching because the Tigers will be facing even more doubt if they lose their starting quarterback in addition to Jacoby Ford, C.J. Spiller and several other key players from last year's ACC runner-up team.
