Two more players leave UNC

North Carolina junior cornerback Mywan Jackson will not return to the program and sophomore defensive tackle Brandon Willis will transfer, the school announced on Friday.

“Mywan is working through some personal issues right now with his family and he felt it was in his best interest to stay in Florida until he decides where to continue his education,” interim coach Everett Withers said in a prepared statement. “He indicated he would like to attend a school closer to his home and we support his decision. I wish him nothing but the best.”

Jackson played in 18 games during his two seasons in Chapel Hill and made five starts in 2010. He had 20 tackles and broke up three passes a year ago.

Willis seems to have commitment issues -- UNC, UCLA, UNC, ?? ...

He attended classes at UNC in the 2010 spring semester and two sessions of summer school. He then transferred to UCLA two weeks into Carolina's fall training camp on Aug. 19. He sat out the 2010 season at UCLA due to NCAA transfer rules. He then transferred back to Carolina this May and attended the second session of summer school in June.

Junior running back Hunter Furr has also announced his plans to transfer.

Withers also announced Friday he has awarded scholarships for the 2011 season to fullback Curtis Byrd, deep-snapper Mark House and holder Trase Jones.
